Hembygdsgården Halvarstugan, Båtstad

Halvarstugan (Halvar cottage) in Båtstad is the most northern homestead museum of Värmland.
On the farmyard, you will find several historical buildings, such as storehouses, a smithy, a stone cellar and a forest cabin with stable. An old destillery device from Bennäset has been preserved, as well as some log-driving tools. Halvarstugan was built by Olof Halvarsson in the years 1861-62. It is told that he buried a treasure of silver on his property in a time of unrest, but that he could not find the treasure back afterwards!

On certain Sundays during the summer, Halvarstugan serves waffles and coffee. At other times, you can visit Halvarstugan by appointment.
Traditional local food, such as "kolbullar" or "nävgröt", can be booked by groups.
