Hiking in the nature reserve of Horsstomyren-Storberget

Enjoy hiking in an area with rich flora and fauna, close to Långberget.
Horsstomyren-Storberget, near Långberget in the north of Värmland, is protected in order to preserve its unique bog landscape and rich variety of species.

While you walk along the paths, you may see plants such as Scotch asphodel, marsh clubmoss, slender cottongrass and narrow-leafed marsh orchid. You may also spot many birds that inhabit the bog: the crane, common greenshank, wood sandpiper, common goldeneye, Eurasian teal as well as black grouse and willow grouse. The most common mammals in the area are moose, hare and fox, but pine marten, lynx and bear are also frequent visitors.
